Marriage Series: The Power of Agreement

Hi ladies,

Welcome back! I pray that your holiday was a blessed one. Now join me as I continue to help you take your marriage to another level. God ordained and created marriages because it is a true representation of His love in the earth; therefore, the enemy HATES it! So much so that he attacks marriages in various ways. One of them being in the area of "disagreement". Disagreement is related to the lack of communication. There is so much power in agreement. If it weren't, God would not have stated in His word that "if two of you shall agree on earth..." (Matt. 18:19) or "can two walk together, except they be agreed" (Amos 3:3). You get the picture.

We all know that our husbands are the heads of our homes; however, they don't always make the wisest decisions. The bible refers to the wife as the "helper" which is also what the bible calls the "Holy Spirit". Wow, what a blessing to be compared to. Ladies, it is our job to assist (help) our husbands make the right decisions by utilizing the horizontal and vertical equation. Let me show you how.

Let's say that your husband has his eyes on a new and expensive sports car but you have been saving money for that nice family vacation that both of you discussed and were in agreement on. Now all of a sudden he has to have this new car and he wants to use the "vacation fund" as his down payment. Whoa, pump the breaks! You instantly have a strong desire to utilize the devils language and tell him where to go and how fast to get there. This is when you refer back to the list of things you should never say to your husband. What do you do now you ask? You utilize the gift of agreement. That's where the horizontal/vertical equation comes into play!

The horizontal line goes from side to side which represents you on one end and your spouse on the other as if you are standing face to face. Then you have the vertical line that goes straight up and down which represents you on the bottom and the Father on top. Picture this in your head as you read. Now go back to the scenario. You should instantly get in agreement with your spouse no matter what was previously discussed because remember that's where the power is. Then (you) take the problem to God the Father who oversees both lines (horizontal and vertical) and leave your concerns with Him. Let Him transmit the correction from the top of the vertical line to the horizontal line. Watch how God will minister to your husband concerning this seemingly bad decision. God only honors agreement! There is no power in disagreement. Before you know it your spouse will return to you and say, "baby, I really don't need that car. Spending time with my family means more to me than some fast car". Praise God! Let us pray...

Lord, we thank you for allowing us to always remain at peace with our husbands. Help us to remember to always get in agreement with our spouses so that we can put 10,000 to flight. Lord, help my husband to make wise decisions by seeking You first when he has an idea. Thank you Lord, for helping us to be an awesome help to our spouse. In Jesus name, Amen!
